The Dec. 18 article in e-Review omitted reference to the third and, for some, the most important segment of the plenary sessions. That segment "The Endless Spiritual Journey," led by Phyliss Law Rabb, dealt with the importance of continuing spiritual formation and growth into later life. It asked the question, "What are we as the church doing to make this way of life - Christian maturity - real to our members, to foster their growth in holy living, to grow desciples making them more like Christ as a result?" Rabb emphasized church is about more than membership or attendance numbers. It's about chaged lives - how many lives are changed; are they more like Christ as a result of attending our church. At the conclusion of Rabb's remarks, the table discussions focused on such questions as, "Have you ever assumed that advanced age equates with 'being spiritual?' " and "Does your congregation offer the means for believers to move off the 'front porch?' "
