Wesleyan spirituality [Jan. 26, 2007 {0611}; An e-Review Florida UMNS Commentary by Bishop Timothy W. Whitaker] 02-01-2007 In response to Bishop Whitaker’s article “Wesleyan Spirituality” I write, “Amen!” As a new Christian who was born-again out of a long unchurched life, my fundamental training came from God through His Word in the form of the NIV and Message Bibles, the Purpose Driven Life and through His Holy Spirit. God then led me to learn about His Church through the Lutheran denomination and now through the United Methodist denomination. John Wesley’s teachings follow closely the personal training God has given me. My relationship with God(3) is intimate, ever-present, growing, vibrant and limitless; it is the very breath of living. This was not taught in a pulpit but instilled by the Holy Spirit and encouraged by a few like-hearted Christians. Thank you, Bishop Whittaker, for leading us in this direction of God’s. For I know in my heart it is His truth and way of salvation for His church. Shellie Deane

Whitaker] 02-01-2007 I am responding to the Bishop Whitaker's e-Review Commentary on Frank Whaling's "John and Charles Wesley: Selected Writings and Hymns" (New York: Paulist Press, 1981) which a member of our congregation shared with me at a class I am teaching on "Wesleyan Theology." I have the book and share the bishop's enthusiasm for it, and greatly appreciated his commentary. Congratulations for sharing it more widely. Dr. Harold Henderson
