I believe you are right, Bishop, about the conversation of ministry and spirituality needing to transcend the obvious dualism that we too often have made this discussion in the past two decades. I must confess that although I am no longer among the "ordained," nothing can replace the spiritual formation that is gained through the challenges of pastoral ministry. As a result I have become stronger spiritually for further ministry in the Kingdom of God.  All honor, glory and praise be to God.

It was good to read in your commentary something that greatly resonated with me. When one does ministry, pastoral or otherwise, I wonder whether what I am doing is making any spiritual significance to anyone, let alone me. Then an oppportunity presents itself, and it registers within my heart that I am making a difference and somehow this broken vessel can and is being used, inspite of how "leaky" I am. Thanks for affirming this and helping me feel not so alone with my thoughts as ministry happens.
